We’ve made a start on the new foul drainage. One of the two existing inspection chambers sits within the footprint of the extension, and the other is where the new rear wall will go. We’re also adding an ensuite, so the drainage layout needs to accommodate that too.
The original plan left one inspection chamber inside the house, which we wanted to avoid. We proposed an alternative layout to the building inspector, who was happy with it provided we could achieve the required fall of 1 in 40 on the pipes.
We’ve started lifting the block paving and digging the first drainage trench. Because of where the existing pipes run, we need to move them before we can excavate the foundations.
