We switched over to the new drainage system last weekend. The new soil pipe and inspection chamber are in place, along with several connections on the branch pipe.

Dark evenings and wet weather are slowing us down, but even these small steps are moving the project forward. We’ve also been trying to finish the living room alongside the extension work.

One job was fitting a new waste pipe for a toilet. That meant taking out the bath, drilling through the cavity wall, fitting the new pipework and then putting the bath back.

So far, there are no leaks, and everything seems to be flowing as it should.

Next, we need more pea gravel to cover the pipes. Once the drainage has been approved and the trench backfilled, we can move on to digging the foundations.
