We’ve uncovered some odd things buried in the garden, both during the extension build and while digging for other projects.

One find was a collection of around 40 Staffordshire blue bricks, each with a distinctive Star of David on one side. From what we’ve been able to find out, they seem to date from the 1800s.

On an earlier dig, we found a metal sign from a shop in Newport. I shared a photo on a Facebook page for historical pictures of Newport, and people offered more than £100 for it! We’ve kept hold of it for now.

Fortunately, no dead bodies or pet remains have turned up so far…
